Who can take part in the ANCOP Walk?
The walk is open to everyone. As long as you're up for the
challenge and willing to raise your target sponsorship, then this is for you.
Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times by a responsible
adult.
Where does the donations go to?
One very special thing about ANCOP Walk is that the money you raise will support
a particular ANCOP village or project that provides shelter to the poorest of the
poor as well as for Child Educational assistance. If you belong to a particular group or association, you can pool together
all the donations collected and start build a new ANCOP village
that can be named after your association or sponsor a grou of children.
How much do I need to raise?
That's up to you. That's the great thing! Every penny you fundraise goes to
your credit. You can set up specific targets as follows:
$ 2,500.00 builds 1 house and
$384 sponsors a child's education for 1 year
$ 25,000.00 For an entire village (start with 10
houses towards minimum of 30) and $3,840 sponsors a batch of 10 children.
Speak to any ANCOP representative or go to www.ancop.ca and ask about
recommended targets if you are unsure about how much you should raise. We
encourage you to set yourself a personal target.
Do you issue tax receipts?
Yes, income tax receipts will be issued for any donation of $20 or more (Canadian
residents only), excluding registration fee. A provisional receipt will be
issued for any amount received. Tax receipts will be mailed 90 days after the
event and once payment is confirmed. If requested, individual tax receipts will be
issued to the names indicated in your pledge form. Please ensure that the
name and address information is clearly printed and complete to avoid delays in
the issuance of tax receipts.
Can I walk as part of a group or organization?
Yes, walking as a group or with your organization is encouraged. This will
help you jump start your target. The entire group can also set targets to raise
money and sponsor an entire village. The village can be named after your group
or association name. Speak to any ANCOP representative or go to www.ancop.ca for more details in sponsoring a
village. You can carry your own (association) banner during the walk to help
identify and recognize your group.
